Does cancelling Amex Platinum Edge still allow me to retain Ascent program with my Amex Explorer?

Hi All

I have an Amex Platinum Edge and an Amex Explorer. I managed to convert my Amex Explorer points from the Gateway program to the Ascent program.

I am now looking at cancelling my Amex Platinum Edge as too many credit cards, so I was wondering if my points will still stay in the Ascent program with just my Amex Explorer?

Pretty sure no.

You have the best point earning combo IMO. Don’t cancel either

Just don’t use the edge. I only use it at supermarkets to get 3ppd via Android pay so no need to carry the physical card around.
