My friend applied for Amex platinum and got rejected, they try to understand why.
Salary 115k pa, in the same job for a year
Only one other CC with low limit, around 3-5k
They have applied for the above CC about two months before applying for the Amex
No bad debt history
Any idea?

There seems to be a “Why did my application for credit get rejected?” post on this site every few weeks at the moment. Do a search for previous posts and you’ll find lots of juicy discussions about why credit cards might get rejected (eg. this one).
In the meantime your friend could try to shore up their credit rating, minimise their debt and try again in six months or so.
