Citi currently have a huge 110,000 VFF points sign up bonus offer (converted from 220,000 Citi reward points). Plus free travel insurance and Priority Pass which I used too. The spend required ($8,000) is high but if like me you just get the assistance of family and friends to pay their bills they were paying anyway, I reached it within the first month.
Purpose of the post is the t&c say you have to literally wait for an email from them 2 months after meeting the spend to enrol in autosweep (which conerts the citi points to velicity points), potentally adding yet another month after that before the VFF points appear in Velocity.
You don’t have to.
The Citi points were there straight after I met the spend within the first month. To comply with the t&c I enrolled in auto sweep for the purpose of the exercise only (potentially adding up to a month before they’d be conerted). But then straight after enrolling I just did a manual conersion and the VFF points were there in my Velocity account the same day!
So all up you dont have to wait months before being able to cancel this card after meeting the spend. You can meet rhe spend and get the 110,000 VFF points all in one month!
Helpful to know if you want to cancel it and move on to another card.
