Is it possible to cancel my Westpac Altitude Black Mastercard but retain the Amex companion card?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could assist with my query below.

I will be looking to terminate my westpac credit cards, but am still under my earn threshold for the bonus points on the AMEX associated card, if i cancel the mastercard will my points for the AMEX still be counted? or are they linked cards and that both will be cancelled?

Yes it is, I did exactly that this week.

I’ll be cancelling the Amex eventually too, but cancelling the Westpac card directly with them doesn’t affect the Amex, which is issued and administered by Amex, independently of Westpac themselves.
