Is Amex currently running behind in crediting Referral points?

Hi

I referred a friend through the amex referral program about three weeks ago. I am yet to receive my referral points. Is Amex currently running behind with crediting Qantas frequent flyer accounts? Previously when I have referred friends, points have been credited to my account as soon as my friend’s card has been approved.

Shane - have you confirmed that your friend’s card was indeed approved? If so, I’d call Amex with the application number your friend received and query it.\r\n\r\nAFAIK they weren’t running behind. It took about 2-3 days for points to drop after approval for the three referrals I got. (Points hit before they even received the card!)

Hi - just as an FYI, I have just referred my wife under the velocity platinum card, and AMEX have advised that it will take 8-10 weeks from the approval date for the referral bonus points to hit my velocity account.
