How to book Qatar reward seats with Amex points?

I am trying to book a redemption seat on QR.
I have plenty of Amex points, however QR is not an affiliated airline
So, thinking best to transfer to VA, then book via them - they do have the inventory, however the points are 3 x as much than QR direct (88,000 Versus 260,000 )
Any hot tips ?

The difference shouldn’t be that significant in terms of the points required. Make sure you are seeing the price for ‘Business Rewards’ within the Virgin Australia website and not their points + pay price!!
