Hi. Sorry for stupid question. I read a while back that the taxes you pay on top of the FF points for an award flight on an American Airlines flight were a lot less than the taxes for a Qantas flight?? How do I book a return flight to New York from Brisbane, flying American Airlines, using my QFF points? And am I right?
Hi Graham,
You might want to try on Qantas website. Using Classic Reward and Multicity search.
BNE-SYD-LAX-JFK.
As far as I know, US airline charges minimal taxes/surcharge.
However, it may only save you in taxes if your redemption is SYD-LAX-JFK only because this route is on AA metal. I.e.:BNE-SYD is QF.
Taxes are based on departure city and airline.
Thanks!!!
