Does Qantas Mastercard Travel Insurance activate only when spending on Qantas flights?

To activate the insurance for the Qantas Mastercard the fine print says you need to spend $500 an a return airline ticket, but it does not specify a Qantas flight.
So the question is , do you need to fly Qantas to activate the travel insurance ?

I highly doubt (99% certain) that the travel insurance would only activate when flying Qantas. If the T&C doesn’t specify Qantas, should be fine.
