Does ATO payment count towards qualifying spend for signup bonus?

Hi there, you’ve all probably had the question a million times but I’m new to Australia and couldn’t find the answer easily. Do you know if ATO spend counts towards sign up bonus (i.e. $3000 for 120000 points) - I know you don’t earn points on incremental spend. Many thanks. Paul

Depends on the card

My gut feel is: if the transaction earns points, it would qualify as qualified spend.

But as Mark mentioned, it really depends on the individual card. Each card has their own T&C.
