Context here is avoiding the additional credit card fee when purchasing a flight from qantas.com. A method to avoid this fee would be either through BPAY or POLi. If you use the BPAY method through Qantas’ online system to pay for your fare/tickets – do you still earn the same amount of points?
Reason I am asking is because BPAY is a government body. So am I technically paying the “government” by using their financial medium?
Why not buy a Qantas gift voucher slightly under the amount that you anticipate spending? Last time I did that, and paid the residual with a credit card, there was no surcharge.
Oo, just called Qantas Money and they said there is no charge on their credit card because they are a domestic FSI (Financial Institution)? Not sure how trustworthy they are though…
Bpay is specified as an ineligible transaction in the T & Cs so you wont accrue any points for paying using that card via the Bpay option.
