Which order would you rate the following airlines?

In terms of overall quality (consisting of award seat availability, product, comfort, reliability etc)
Qantas, JAL, ANA, Emirates, Singapore. Just your general opinion is good enough

Do you have any others that you would like to mention as particularly good?

For me, Singapore Airlines is the most consistent in terms of award space availability (if booking well in advance) and level of service (some would say too consistent). Unfortunately, Krisflyer miles is harder to earn than Qantas or Velocity points in Australia (which could be partly why competition is higher with other Qantas and Velocity members).

Award Availability:

  1. Singapore
  2. Qantas (simply due to having more flights out of here)
  3. JAL (used to be much better from Aus)
  4. ANA (hard to get points to redeem here)
  5. Emirates (non-existent)

Product:

  1. Singapore (great across all classes but not the best in any except First Class)
  2. JAL/ANA (amazing in economy, average in Biz)
  3. Emirates (above average economy and premium economy, below average business, WOW first)
  4. Qantas (consistently average in everything - except F lounge!)

Comfort:

  1. Emirates first
  2. Singapore First
  3. Qantas First
and then all the business products are alright as well. No standouts.

Reliability:

  1. Qantas - if departing Oz due to huge number of backup options if things go wrong
  2. Singapore - also good with many flights per day
  3. everyone else is alright.
