Hi guys, does anyone have any recommendations for hotels to stay at, at Changi airport?
We’ll have access to the private room and the first class lounge in terminal 3. We won’t have our checked luggage as we’ve been told it’ll be checked all the way to LHR.
We’re wondering if we should stay airside at a Transit Hotel, or whether it’s no bother to stay at Yotel or Crowne Plaza which I think are landside?
If you’ve been, and know your way around, some tips would be appreciated.
I’ve personally only stayed at Crowne Plaza, which is just a short walk to T3 (connected to terminal). However, it is pretty pricey (most airport accommodation at Changi is). I buy IHG points when they are on sale to reduce the costs.
If it is a short transit or you’d rather not go through customs or are couldn’t be bothered walking or seeing much outside of the beautiful terminal, the transit hotels offer rooms at 12 hr blocks (from memory).
If you have heaps of time and wish to see more of the city, I’d recommend staying closer to the city and the airport is a short taxi or train ride away. Options open up.
Hey @ollie,
I’ve stayed in the airside transit hotel a few times when travelling with family/young kids. It was perfectly acceptable. If all you’re after is a place to have a shower and freshen up and grab some sleep it’s a very good option and good value for money I think. One benefit too is you can use the swimming pool. This is a great option if travelling with kids especially - operating hours are from 12pm - 10pm. I think you can pay cash to use the pool if not staying at the hotel.
Yeah the Aerotel outdoor swimming pool and poolside food/drinks was a nice relax and pretty ‘folksy’ vibe, good for kids but can’t speak to the rooms themselves; it’s in T1, so Crown might be closer to you if you’re already in T3.
I stayed at the Yotel when it first opened. As I was planning to stay in Singapore for a few days, going to the Yotel enabled me to escape the airport. Going through Customs was no problem. As a solo traveller I opted for a small room, and small is an accurate description, but you get what you pay for and I’m not complaining. Staff members were efficient, informative and friendly.
As for the room, the bed was squishingly comfortable and the shower/toilet room spotless… If you’re travelling with family or friends, I can’t comment about larger rooms. The Yotel is within a newish mall that has everything and more that anyone would want.
Chiangi is just across the road or an airbridge and the train is so close as are taxis if you have time and want to visit places around Singapore.
