Where to credit Singapore Airlines and Air Canada flights if already Velocity Gold and wanting to build Star Alliance status?

Hi,

In the coming months, I have two international flights:
Singapore Airlines: Melbourne to London return (economy class (N and W fare type))
Air Canada: Melbourne to Ottawa (Business class (J))

I currently hold Velocity Gold, but am unsure whether or not this is the best option. I’m primarily after getting Star Alliance gold status.

Currently I’m considering:

  • Joining Krisflyer and assigning all the trips there
  • Joining Air Canada Altitude and assigning all the trips there
  • Assigning all the trips to Velocity.

I’m unsure whether the third option would be at all effective.

Can I get some advice?

Hi pointhaxor,

  1. Crediting to Krisflyer

10508 Elite miles in N fare return MEL-LON

15762 Elite miles in W fare return MEL-LON

~26012 Elite miles in J fare return MEL-Ottawa (not 100% certain whether you earn Elite miles on partner airlines).

  1. Crediting to Air Canada

I am not very familiar with how Air Canada (Aeroplan) status works.

  1. Crediting to Velocity

50 Velocity status credits one way MEL-LON

No status credit for Air Canada
