I used Airberlin’s status match promo a while back to prolong my OneWorld status. My family now has 3 Airberlin cards, all dropped to Silver with resp. 38k, 18k and 8k in topbonus points (I only used topbonus for flights when wheretocredit.com showed topbonus on top).
I’m in Europe regularly but don’t typically go to Germany. What’s the best use of these points in my case? They don’t offer family pooling anymore (which is a shame) and the taxes on eg an Etihad redemption are exorbitant. Last month, they had a decent promo where you could buy a 300 euro holiday voucher for 10k points or so (66% off) but that promo seems to have finished.
