Flying later next year from Melbourne to London via Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia Airlines as Qantas Frequent Flyers (2 of which are Qantas Club members). Three of us in Business Class one in Economy. What lounge options do we have in Melbourne and is the any ‘guest’ availability for our 4th economy traveller (a bronze frequent flyer and not a Qantas Club member)?
AFAIK, Qantas Club only gets you lounge access when travelling with Qantas, so you get nothing when travelling with Malaysia. The 3 business Pax will get access to the Qantas business lounge on account of class of travel and also Malaysia’s contracted lounge there - the Plaza Premium.
Unless one of you have Oneworld sapphire or emerald status (Qantas Gold or Platinum), in which case you can guest an extra person in, there is no guest allowance for business class passengers. The extra person in economy won’t be able to get into the Qantas lounge, but can purchase access to the Plaza premium - there are various ways to do so, such as Priority Pass, Dragon pass or through the Plaza Premium website.
Thanks for the advice. I also understand now we could also visit the Marhaba lounge too but in both cases have to buy a pass for our economy passenger.
