Hi, I am trying to organise a round the world trip in business with Qantas points .
I am just trying to organise a route that will work but I can’t seem to get the points to Cap at the 318,000 as offered.
can someone please explain to me where I am messing up?
As far as I can see I have booked under the total distance , 5 stop overs , all Qantas affiliate airlines ? what am I doing wrong ?
I will attach photos of proposed booking .
any help would be much appreciated , Thanks!!
(I can only attach 1 photo but this comes out at 485,400 points and total distance is 32,966 as per circle mapper )
The total distance is 42,892 miles. Hopefully, I got the airport codes right.
You will need to connect any cities not linked together via a flight in the itinerary when you calculate the total distance. I believe they call these surface segments.
I also believe you will need to include the distance back to the first port of departure when calculating the distance.
I haven’t check the rules whether the number of transits in CMN is exceeded. But I think you will have to reduce the total distance first as that is probably the bigger issue here.
Hey mate , really appreciate your response .
I had punched all of the flight destinations into gcmap including final flight back to Perth but looks like I havent accounted for the connecting flights , didn’t realise this was to be included but I suppose it makes sense .
Looks like you have figured it out for me.
I will have to see if I can find direct flights I suppose or account for these connecting airports .
Thanks again mate!
