Whilst the offer requires ticketed by midnight - has anyone experienced a hard cut off if they were 15 mins late? Or is there generally some leeway?

Welcome to the Point Hacks Community. I understand that the deal has ended now but I thought I’d answer anyway. In general these sorts of deals are controlled by online booking systems. The T&C’s on the deal state:
11:59pm AEDT is Australian Eastern Daylight Time - which means Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra & Hobart. So even if you’re in Brisbane or Perth (3hrs behind Sydney), the cutoff would be configured in the booking engine to automatically become disabled at 11:59pm - Sydney time.
So in answer to your question, I wouldn’t imagine there would be any leeway to be had with this offer. If you were in Perth, you’d have until 8:59pm (AWST/Perth Time) or 10:59pm in Brisbane (AEST) which are both 11:59pm Sydney time.
