I’ve recently transferred 390,000 Westpac Altitude points to KrisFlyer, and plans to book 2 business awards to HKG on Christmas day (with a 3-day stopover in SIN). However, the all 4 available options on MEL-SIN sector shows “waitlist”, and how big the chance this will clear? Thanks very much.
I’ll be interested to find out whether anyone knows this with certainty.
Personally, I would be assuming that it doesn’t clear and make alternative plans if you really need to travel during that time. I would be waitlisting as much flights as possible out of most Australian ports to increase my chances.
I’ve had 0/4 success on waitlisted Singapore Airlines. I wouldn’t recommend relying on the wait list clearing as if it doesn’t, you will be paying for a very expensive last minute ticket for one of the most expensive travel periods all year…
