What is the best way to use Amex Gateway points to fly Sydney to London in business class?

Hi all,

Just trying to work out the best way to be able to fly 2 x adults business return from Syd to London in July. Approximate dates would be 10th July - 31st July but dates are flexible.

I just want to work out the best way to do it - I understand we will need to pay some cash, but I am brand new to this and trying to work out which airline, which scenario (ie do we buy a lower class flight and use points to upgrade, buy a business flight with points and pay extra cash?)

Any particular airline best value?
