I am a Virgin Australia Velocity Platinum member. I am going to use my velocity points to redeem a reward flight from New York (EWR) to Montreal, in business class. I noticed that this redemption business class ticket does not include any checked in luggage allowance. I would like to know, if my Virgin Australia Platinum status would grant me any checked in luggage allowance? If so, how many pieces and weight? And if not, how can I purchase the allowance and how much please?

I’m not sure who best to check to confirm this from the horses mouth (Velocity or Air Canada).
By searching cash fare business class on the same route on air canada website, the lowest fare business class includes 2 checked bags.
If you decided to take a punt and book, once you have the air canada PNR or eticket number, you could manage booking to confirm baggage allowance or check with air canada customer service
Going back to your initial question, Velocity Platinum only offer lounge benefit when travelling on Air Canada, which should be included anyway if you are in business class.
I actually have contacted both Velocity and AC, they just kicked the ball to the other side. I then emailed AC customer service and the response I received was a bunch of copy n paste from their website, which did not address the question at all.
