What are the best ways to redeem award seats from Melbourne to Tokyo using Qantas points?

Hi all,

I am flying from Melbourne to Tokyo 11th April - 25th April.

I found circa $573 return with Jetstar, so was going to book Via Qantas???
Should I be booking with Qantas as they have deals from $773 and then upgrading with points?

I am trying to figure out what is the best way to book using my QFF point, it’s sitting at a small amount of 100,000.

Should I be paying for a flight and then using points to upgrade?

I also want to maximise the amounts of points that I accrue when travelling. Would love your input so much, as I know there are many FF experts.

Hi,

Unfortunately, you cannot use Qantas points to upgrade your Jetstar flight. If you really want to, you could use your Qantas points to redeem a Jetstar Business Class ticket.
