Should we credit our Etihad flights to Etihad or Velocity program?

Flying Etihad SYD -CDG / LHR - SYD 2 adults + 1 infant in First / 3 (kids) Adults fares in business. 1 adult in first has gold velocity, rest are bog standard Red. Currently all family pooled to Gold. Paying cash for tickets . Are we better registering velocity with flight or everyone signing up to Etihad FF program ? Thanks
