Should I take the 50 status credit bonus or 8000 points with Qantas Frequent Flyer?

Hi All,

Hoping for some advice re QANTAS.

I have 500 status credits, currently sitting on Silver.

The anniversary dates attached to my status points is March 31, 2018.

I have been offered a loyalty bonus of 50 status credits or 8000 FF points.

I have around 61,000 FF points.

I am wondering if I should take the 50 status credits and try and get to Gold between now and March 31, 2019 or take the 8000 points and use it to build up my points.

With work travel and personal flights I can probably reach or be close to Gold.

Any advice would be appreciated ! Thanks

Well, I think it depends. If your work flies you economy or you personally fly economy, then definitely go for the Status Credits.

 

Otherwise, if you fly business and have an award you have your eye on. Then take the points.
