Should I put my Krisflyer or Velocity member number for my Singapore Airlines flight for Velocity status points?

I have 2 BC flights this year with SQ is it better to use my Krisflyer number or Virgin FF number to get status with Virgin.

I believe you earn Krisflyer status if you attach your Krisflyer number to the booking and Velocity status is you attach Velocity number to the booking. You can’t earn Velocity status by attaching Krisflyer number to the booking.
