Should I focus on other frequent flyer programs besides Qantas?

Hi I’ve been a Qantas FF member for some 15 years and enjoyed quite a few international business class seats. ATM due to Covid and travel restrictions I have over a million QF points in my account and unfortunately can’t manage to secure a decent seat whenever I want to travel. So I’m considering changing my Qantas Business Rewards with AMEX to another program. My question is should I just go for the general rewards and convert them when I want to fly or is it better to join a specific FF program?

For points earning, going flexible has the advantage of being a free agent and you choosing to convert your points based on the availability of seats. It would be pretty hard to totally escape from earning Qantas points but definitely focusing more on flexible currencies is a good way to diversify your portfolio of points so that you get access to more options and more availability to get the places you want to go!
