RTW oneworld question- can I transit a city and then later depart from that same city?

Hi guys,
Can i pass through a city on the RTW itinerary (with less than 24 hours stop)
and then leave from that city (without having flown there- i’ll catch a train back to there).

The rules seemed a bit unclear with the pass through a city twice, and only visit a city once thing.
