Is transferring SPG points to JAL mileage for award bookings on partner airlines a good option?

Hi All

I have been looking at transferring SPG to JAL mileage and then booking Australia to Europe with partner airlines either Emirates or Qatar it appears 100k Business return!

This seems quite a bit less than thru AAdvantage, am I missing something here or is JAL partners a good option?

Hi,

I found that is will costs 125,000 JAL for 1 person SYD-DXB-CDG return in business. I am not 100% sure but I think JAL is special in that it calculates the total distance for a return trip and charges based on the distance on the table/chart.

For the route above, the total distance is 21478 miles return.
