Is there a hack to reduce the wait time ringing Qantas on 131313 to make a Frequent Flyer booking?

I’ve never made an award booking via their SMS number but their response times to SMS can be fairly reasonable. The number is 0477 726 827.

The potential problem is that they’ll need to verify you before they can take points out of your account, so be prepared for it to not work. But there’s no harm in giving it a try.

Thanks sixty eight. I was on hold for almost 3 hours when I rang on.the phone…only to be told that the first class award that was showing on Qantas was a “false availability”!!! (which is why I was getting an obscure error message when I tried to book.it myself on -line). Atrocious.
