How to use Qantas points to fly business class from Melbourne to Barcelona in Aug/Sep 2019?

Hi, I am wanting to book Business Class flights Melbourne - Barcelona Aug/Sept 2019 using points. Im not having much luck in finding flights whether I try return flights, multi city, one way etc. except if I want to fly China Air. I did try multiple cities as in Melb - Singapore - London but no luck! Am I too early to be looking for such flights or is it they are just not available with other carriers other than China Air? Any advice would be helpful - thanks

Consider a stop over in Tokyo.  And then connections to Barcelona.

You should be fine for August.

Award availability for Emirates and Cathay Pacific which used to be quite reliable has dried up for July/August.

If you do not have Qantas status Gold or better, you would only see award seats for Qantas flights 308 days in advance.
