How to top up Marriott points after SPG and Marriott Rewards merger in August?

Hi Points Hack,

I was wondering if the family pooling option has been removed with the merger of SPG and Marriott rewards? I can’t seem to find it on the new site.

If we have already purchased the maximum spg rewards points for the year (Im assuming its 30K prior to the merger), what other options are there to top up account to complete hotel booking?

I can see two options, neither of them are great value in my opinion. Depending on how much you need to top up, it might be worthwhile to bite the bullet and complete the redemption.

  1. Buy Marriott points

  2. Transfer from Amex Membership Reward program.
