How to redeem business class seats to the UK using a mix of Velocity, Virgin Atlantic and AMEX points?

Hi Community
I need some help asap. Need to book two return flights to the UK (London or Birmingham) to arrive before 10 August 2019 for a wedding. Would like Business if possible.

I have the following points:
Virgin Atlantic 86,667
Velocity (after cashing in HSBC and Flybuys rewards) 250,277
Amex rewards 170,712

We are happy to stop over somewhere en-rout for a day or two either way. Any suggestions?

ps. I’m fairly new to this game and am getting very confused especially when Velocity said they can’t merge points with Virgin Atlantic and visa versa. UGGGHHH!

Hi there,

Sydney via Singapore to London with Singapore Airlines (business class) costs 139k Velocity points or 105k Krisflyer miles (which you can transfer from Amex Membership Rewards).

The same above costs 112.5k Velocity points or 87.5k Krisflyer miles in premium economy.

You generally cannot transfer points between different programs. However, transfers between Velocity program and Krisflyer program is allowed (at a cost of 1.35:1).
