Hi, at the moment I have around 300.000 Qantas Frequent flyer point (Amex) would like to travel to Doha ( Qatar) from Sydney 19/111/22 returning 21/12/22, what would be the best way to used them, Regards Roberto
You didn’t say how many people would be travelling; 300,000 Qantas points will be enough for one person to fly Business class or Premium Economy return to Doha. If you are travelling with someone else using points you’ll need to fly Economy.
If you want to fly direct (non-stop), your only option is Qatar Airlines, though there’s currently some availability around the dates you want on Sri Lankan, via Sri Lanka. There’s no Qatar availability at the moment, but that may change closer to the dates you want.
You write that you have Qantas points “(Amex)”. I’m not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean that you’ve used an AmEx Qantas card to accumulate the points?
My advice would be to read this Point Hacks guide to Qantas points, and follow the links to more detailed guides about how to book reward flights. Also be prepared to be flexible – you might not find flights on the exact dates you want, and you might not be able to find direct flights or flights from Sydney (in which case, look for flights from Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane).
