How to fly from Dubai to Melbourne with Velocity/Qantas points?

Hi everyone,

Can I get from Dubai to Melbourne on points? I have about 155k Velocity and 200k Qantas points, but prefer to use Velocity (maybe transferred to other airline?) if possible. There are two of us travelling.

Hi,

You could fly on Emirates business class 96k Qantas pts per person. If you want to use your Velocity points, you could travel on land to Abu Dhabi (1 hr) and take Etihad to Melbourne. It costs 104k Velocity pts per person in business class. Both will have a high cash component (taxes and surcharge).
