How to book Sydney to Dublin with Velocity points in business class?

Hi all,

I have 497K velocity points and want to fly from Sydney to Dublin departing 12th July and returning 4th August 2018. When I try to book on velocity website the points there is no business rewards seats available? I can book economy reward but the cost 215K points for return! Is this good value for my velocity points? I thought I would be able to get business return for around ~200K!

You need to book well in advance and be flexible with dates. Looks like you will need to break up trip into separate award bookings. Best to do it on the phone. I would do this:
12/7 SYD-AUH EY455 Biz Reward 104,000 points + tax
13/7 AUH-DUB EY41 Eco Reward 35,000 points + tax

7/8 DUB-AUH-SYD EY42 EY454 Biz Reward 139,000 points + tax

In terms of value – I always look for 2-3c per point value. So if I’m spending 300k points I’d be expecting to snag a ticket that would have otherwise cost $6-9k.
