Hi Adam,
It’s certainly possible to book a reward flight on this route with Qantas and its partners, but you’ll likely be mixing and matching carriers.
You’ll save points by flying non-stop or booking the same carrier all the way (i.e. Sydney-Haneda on Qantas or Japan Airlines, or Sydney-Hong Kong-Tokyo on Cathay Pacific).
To get started, head to the Qantas website, go to Multi-city, tick ‘Use Points’, type in your flight details (tick ‘flexible’ in the date calendar as that makes it easier to find seats) and go from there.
