How to add newborn to Qantas classic reward booking?

I’m trying to add my newborn twins to my Mel-lhr rewards flight.

The info on the website says to call when they are born which I did and they’re refusing to add until the passports are issued. Am I getting mucked about or is this right?

When is your flight? What carrier is the flight with? Do you have two adults on the booking?

Flights are with qantas and I believe are operated by qantas too. We have 2 adults and 2 children on the booking and need to add the newborn twins.

This page says all you need to provide is name and DOB. Time to Hang Up And Call Again (HUACA).
