Having done the Point Hacks beginners guide, I was encouraged to learn that in the points valuation tutorial, it’s possible to fly business class return from Sydney to Amsterdam for 136,000 Kris Flyer points.
"Here’s an example redemption - a return Business Class flight to Amsterdam, from Sydney. Singapore to Amsterdam is a sweet-spot on the Singapore Airlines award chart as Amsterdam is slightly closer to Singapore than other European cities and falls in a slightly cheaper price band.
This redemption would usually cost 136,000 KrisFlyer miles plus $925 in taxes, all up. Note that that’s amazing value. Qantas would have you pay 128,000 Qantas Points one way, not return, for the same trip on Qantas/Emirates flights."
When I went to the Kris Flyer website and used the points calculator for business reward redemption it states 210,00 miles for a business saver award ticket.
To upgrade from an economy ticket to business its 150,000 from an economy flexi saver ticket.
Is this correct?
I’m saving my Velocity points to convert to Krisflyer points to fly my wife, my two kids and myself to Europe from Sydney return as a longer term goal. We’ll be buying economy flight anyway so wanted to travel in style.
Can anyone please advise? 136,000 points seems an extraordinary for a points only redemption return to Europe with Singapore Airlines in business class - is this actually correct?
