How is Virgin Atlantic's relationship with Virgin Australia?

I notice flights Sydney to London by Virgin Atlantic with the Sydney to Hong Kong sector provided by Cathay Pacific. Seems strange as Virgin Australia now have flights to HK. Any thoughts ?

I can’t seem to find the said flights above on Virgin Atlantic website.

For what’s its worth, Virgin Atlantic is still owned by Virgin Group (Richard Branson and c0.). Virgin Group only holds 8% of Virgin Australia.

yes your right I also cant find them on VA but if I search via webjet for Sydney - London in Premium economy it is listed as VA flight operated by Cathay Pacific for the syd - hk sector .
