Has any hotel loyalty programs relaxed status requalifications in light of COVID-19?

Hi Point Hack Team,
In light of Airlines starting to allow changes to flight bookings does anyone know if the major hotel brands such as Marriott and Hilton are in discussions yet regarding the impact to loyalty members? There is the real possibly of people being unable to achieve the required number of annual night stays in order to retain one’s status levels due to travel risks from Covid-19.
Please update when known. Thank you!
Go Well,
Gidget

From memory, practically all major hotel chains including ALL (Accor), Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Best Western and more are waiving status qualifing requirements or extending it by a year from expiry, etc. However, many are only extending status for members based in China or select countries in South-East Asia.
For Australian based status holders, the only two chains offering extended status is Hyatt and Shangri-La. The below article shows what hotel chains is doing for affected travellers.
