Hey guys we’re off to NZ for a ski trip, flying Sydney to Christchurch first class in Emirates.
I believe we can use the Qantas first class lounge in Sydney but could anyone confirm that from prior experience? Do you recommend using any other lounge we’re eligible for such as the Emirates lounge?
What’s the food like onboard? Should we be doing any advance food booking like Singapore’s book the cook?
Thanks for the reply
Good to see we can definitely use the first class lounge again.
Class of travel: First Class passengers on Qantas, Emirates and oneworld partner airlines.
Unfortunately we will miss out on the spa again. 0/2 haha. Maybe one day.
When we checked in at the first class kiosk, we were checked in by one of those 3rd party contractor employees like de nada.
And they recommended we go use the emirites lounge. They made no mention of the private first class checkin option further down. Nor did they mention we were entitled to use the superior qantas first class lounge.
I think these sorts of things should be mentioned to all people checking in at business or first class so they’re aware of all their options.
The issue is that some lounges are cheaper per passenger for airlines than others. When passengers use other airlines/companies’ lounges, the airline needs to compensate the other airline/lounge for that.
Airlines are always going to send passengers to the Lounge that results in the lower expense for them.
Be careful what you wish for. Are you ok with airlines increasing prices to compensate for more passengers using more expensive (to them) lounges?
