Expiring Thai Orchid miles - any suggestions on how to use these miles?

My wife and I have about 85000 Thai award miles each with 28000 miles each expiring in December and would like to know the best way to use them. We are both members of Qantas and Virgin and use Qantas points to travel domestically as they give you the run around trying to use points on international flights. As Thai awards miles expire is there a better program we can use to transfer these miles to, We are ACCOR members and are already Platinum. Cheers

You can fly SYD > HNL via LAX return on United in J for 85K Thai miles. Backtracking is in this instance permitted, but according to their rules you can’t have a stopover (in LA) when backtracking…

Just a thought.

As members of Royal Orchid Plus (Thai Airways customer loyalty program) you can’t transfer your miles to another FF program. Thai is a member of Star Alliance so you should be able to book flights from Australia (via Thai Airways site)that include Singapore Airlines, United Airlines, Air Canada, EVA Air, Asiana Airlines, Air New Zealand, South African Airways, Air China and others.
