Does Velocity Gold members get lounge access in Hanoi when flying Singapore Airlines?

Flying Singapore Airlines as a velocity gold member and tried to access star alliance lounge at Hanoi and was declined as my velocity card did not have star alliance on it even though my ticket did. Staff member advised me that virgin were not part of the star alliance.

Attempted to enter Vietnam airlines who was the contracted Singapore airlines lounge and was declined again as they stated they didn’t cater for virgin velocity.

Velocity lounge access knowledge is very hard to keep track of. Have a look at this webpage. It doesn’t look like Velocity Gold gets you lounge access in Hanoi with Singapore Airlines flights .
