In the past I have flown JAL to Europe with a stopover overnight in Japan because of the long connection layover. Why buying a ticket, JAL provides the hotel night at an airport hotel included in the flight. Does anyone know if the hotel inclusion is included when booking the flight using QFF points?

It seems that this program is generally only available if you have purchased certain fare classes and booking conditions directly through JAL. I can’t find any information that indicates that you can access this when redeeming a Qantas FF reward flight.
The closest you can get to this would be to schedule a maximum layover of up to 24hrs as part of a multi-city booking. Adding a hotel stay wouldn’t be free, but you wouldn’t incur any additional points on the booking, which would allow a brief stopover. Have a read of this article and see if it helps out:
