Anyone have any experience with the waitlist on Cathay Pacific?

I waitlisted a few flights between Perth and Shanghai between Christmas and New Years. I guess that is considered a busy period?

I just want to know what my chances are as I will need to make other plans if I have basically no chance of getting a flight.

Return flights are available to book immediately so it’s a bit frustrating trying ti find an outgoing flight.

Great question, and not one I’ve had experience with. Generally Cathay are good about making space available about 2-3 weeks from travel, and then again 2-3 days out… but this might be cutting it fine for you of course. Hard to know without first hand experience on this specific route.
