Do you get your paid taxes refunded when cancelling a redemption flight?

Hi All

Can someone please suggest if Krisflyer refunds the taxes if I cancel the award redemption. I am aware of the $75 fees to get a re-deposit of the miles but I am confused if I will get back the $$$$ paid towards the taxes while booking the award.

Also, am I right in thinking that Qantas will refund the $$$$ paid towards the taxes/surcharges but charge 6000 points while cancelling a classic reward flight.

Yes, most if not all FF programs refund the taxes upon cancellation. However, some programs charge a hefty cancellation fee. The refunded tax will negate some of the cancellation fees. Half glass full or empty?
