Does anyone know if you receive status credit/points for cash upgrade at the airport? For context, I recently travelled from Sydney to Nadi and back via Fiji Airways. I upgraded paying cash at the airport on both legs (for the curious - the upgrade cost me a less than a third of the actual fare had I booked business directly via FJ/Qantas). The original booking was made via qantas as a classic reward economy.
I understand typically you get status credit/points based on your original booking but was wondering if that applies to cash upgrades. In both instances, I was reissued a new ticket.
