I thought I read that if a Velocity Gold member transferred 250,000 AMEX points by 30th November, then their status would be upgraded to Platinum. So, I duly transferred 250,000 points and then contacted Velocity and received this reply:
As per the promotions Terms and Conditions, AMEX Centurion and Platinum Card Members who transfer 500,000 Membership Reward Points to Velocity will receive Velocity Platinum membership for a 12 month period between 30 Oct 2017 and 30 Nov 2017.
I’m sorry but as you’re unable to meet the criteria, you’re not eligible for this promotion and we cant upgrade your membership to Platinum.
So, did I miss something or did I really this this on Point Hacks…
Were you transferring the Amex points from Amex Platinum Charge, Business Charge or Centurion Card? Did you transfer the 250k Amex points within the time period?
I couldn’t locate the Point Hacks article but I do recall seeing such an article.
Here is a AUSBT article I could locate, which also mentioned the 250k for Velocity Gold. Not sure where to locate the actual T&C from Velocity program.

It sounds like Velocity were incorrect in their reply. Try emailing gold@velocityrewards.com.au which has worked OK for me for customer service issues in the past and update us if you don’t get any luck.
