Many institutions do not approve credit cards for those without a salary, even if they can easily make repayments.
Can anyone suggest a credit card with sign up bonus for self funded retirees?

Unfortunately, streamlined/automated credit card applications requires/prioritises an ongoing salary/income stream. There might be some banks out there that are willing to have a human look through your circumstances and offer a credit product for you. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any (disclosure: I’m not a retiree)

Don’t bother applying for a card issued by NAB.
Retired, have a large tax-free retirement income, no debt and still was declined as I do not have a salary or business income (as advised by their credit card department).
