Cathay Pacific award flights availability - when is the best time to search?

Hi everyone,
For some months now I have been doing dummy bookings for Business from MEL to ZRH and JFK to MEL using QFF points. In both cases most of the time Cathay is easily available close to 12 months out from date of travel. However, occasionally like now there is no Business availability. Does anyone know why this is?

Are you aware that Cathay reward seats become available 353 days out. Any date further out will not show availability. You can use this handy calculator to ascertain those dates.

Thanks for getting back Bofman.  Cathay actually become available further out than that - more like 358 days according to what I have seen in recent months.  What I am wondering is why, at least on the legs I am researching, Cathay seats have gone missing.  Usually there are plenty of Business seats on Mon Tue Wed from 2-4 weeks short of a year ahead of today’s date but for the last week or more there have been none at all.
