Can you upgrade a Emirates/Qatar flight redeemed using Qantas points?

Hi - I have booked a Classic Rewards flight on Qantas to Europe. The flights are operated by Emirates and Qatar. Is there anyway to apply for an upgrade? I can’t apply via the Qantas site as they are not Qantas flights. Thanks.

Qantas points can only be used for upgrades on Qantas operated flights.

Could consider rebooking the premium cabin with points and cancelling the earlier booking.

I believe Emirates in particular sells day of departure upgrades. I’ve heard anecdotes from other forums that at Check-in they sometimes explicit list a price for upgrades to Business on the spot but you can always ask.
